Lake Berryessa 2023

Sacramento was well represented by 12 swimmers at the Lake Berryessa race on Saturday, 06/03! Clear skies and temperatures in the high 80's made for a very cool and refreshing swim.

This event marked the first open water race of 2023 for most of us as well as some other notable firsts. This was Val's FIRST-EVER open water swim event and she knocked it out of the park! She indicated that she would want to do more in the future. Saturday's race was also Monica Carter's first open water race in over 20 years and she also did amazing. A shout-out to Stephanie for swimming both the 2 and 1-mile events. Congratulations to all our swimmers!

Saturday was a reunion of sorts with Alex, former SACMA member, joining us all the way from San Jose as well as getting to see some of our friends from Rio Del Oro. It was a toasty Saturday but we still managed to celebrate after the race with yummy food, cold beers, and good company at Berryessa Brewing.
